Our Story
As college students, we noticed a missing piece in our U.S. education system: a lack of financial literacy instruction. About 4 in 7 Americans are financially illiterate, or poorly educated on financial matters. This is due to the absence of financial literacy education in high schools. Only 23 states in the United States require high school students to take a course in personal finance. As a result, current students, who eventually will become professional adults, don’t know how to manage personal finances, leading a significant portion of the population to be financially illiterate for generations.
FINDEX is here to change that.
As part of a senior design project, our team committed to addressing financial illiteracy in the community of Rochester.
